TITLE: Warehouse Nutrition Services Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Coordinate warehouse activities related to assigned work in the area of receiving, inspecting, storing,
issuing and staging of food and supplies for Nutritional Services. Provide oversight in safe and proper
handling of food inventory. Conduct activities related to USDA commodities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and/or experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED
2. Two (2) years warehouse experience
3. One (1) year experience handling food inventory
4. Food Service Managers License from Maricopa County Environmental Services Department
5. State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
6. Valid Arizona Drivers License
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and process orders of food and supplies from school sites.
- Coordinate and conduct staging of orders and driver delivery, including both warehouse orders
and central kitchen orders.
- Act as a liaison with school site nutritional services supervisors.
- Receive and verify incoming stock from vendors and load and unload vendor and delivery trucks.
- Operate material handling equipment to load, unload, and move materials.
- Utilize automated system for inventory verification and adjustments procedures and complete
appropriate documentation.
- Drive routes as required.
- Routinely inspect refrigerated trucks to ensure food safety standards are met.
- Utilize and monitor inventory management procedures incorporating FIFO and HAACP criteria for
proper handling and storage of all products.
- Monitor inventory volume to achieve volume par levels for optimal inventory turnover with input
from the Director of Nutritional Services.
- Coordinate USDA commodities with direction from the Director of Nutritional Services.
- Conduct monthly ADE shipping verifications.
- Coordinate direct ship schedule of processed commodities with Student Nutritional Specialist.
- Meet regularly with Nutritional Services district office personnel on commodity ordering needs
related to menu.
- Monitor ADE Notice of Arrivals, place orders, and submit refusals within required time limits.
- Check ADE surplus weekly and place orders as needed.
- Maintain records required by law.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of automated inventory system - Knowledge of record keeping practices
- Knowledge of proper safety techniques
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Skill in lifting heavy objects
- Skill in operating forklift or other related equipment
- Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Skill communicating verbally, in writing, and through computer applications
- Ability to properly lift and move materials, supplies and equipment
- Ability to possess valid Arizona Drivers License with good driving record for the last five years
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to dangerous machinery
Potential physical harm
Exposure to extreme temperature conditions
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Requires frequent lifting up to 80 lbs.
Requires the ability to lift, bend and stoop.
