TITLE: Nutrition Services Assistant - Warehouse

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform assigned tasks in warehouse; inspecting incoming orders, receiving, shipping, delivering, storing
food and supplies, and general warehouse utility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
2. One (1) year warehouse experience and/or inventory experience (preferred)
3. State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
4. Food handler's card/certification
5. Valid Arizona Driver’s License
6. Fork-Lift Certified

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Receive, process, and inspect food, supplies and equipment.
- Count and verify incoming and outgoing items to invoices, orders or other records and complete
appropriate documentation.
- Stock all food and supply items in designated dry, frozen or refrigerated area.
- Load and unload vendor delivery trucks.
- Stage inventory for loading of Nutritional Services truck deliveries to schools.
- Drive routes as required for delivery of ordered items.
- Keep track of inventory according to FIFO, advising manager of inventory status.
- Operate a fork-lift and pallet jack.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

- Knowledge of automated inventory system
- Knowledge of record keeping practices
- Knowledge of proper safety techniques
- Knowledge of inventory practices, FIFO
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Skill lifting heavy packages and objects
- Skill operating forklift or other related equipment
- Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Skill communicating verbally and in writing
- Ability to properly lift and move materials, supplies and equipment
- Ability to possess a valid Arizona Driver's License with a good driving record for at least five years
- Ability to operate a refrigerated box truck
- Ability to verify receiving invoices, control inventory and assist in handling shipping carts

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works around dangerous machinery

Exposure to potential physical harm
Works in various temperature environments; kitchen and refrigerated/freezer units

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Requires frequent lifting up to 80 pounds
Requires ability to lift, bend, and stoop
