TITLE: Instructional Coach - Educational Technology

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Facilitate the identification and implementation of technologies which may be used to supplement and
enhance the classroom instructional process. Provide specific training and support to K-8 teachers, with
emphasis on assisting and preparing them to implement the learning and teaching framework through the
use of instructional technology tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Arizona Elementary Teacher certification
2. Graduate degree in education with three (3) years of experience as a classroom teacher
3. Significant experience in instructional Technology, preferably in product evaluation, selection and
implementation
4. Experience with Apple/Macintosh and PC platforms in an educational environment
5. Superior oral and written communications skills
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
7. Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
8. Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with the school administrator,
teachers, support personnel, product vendors, parents and community members
9. Willingness to conduct evening and weekend training sessions, seminars, and briefings
10. Knowledge of State Learning Standards and applications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serve as a member of the Instructional Excellence Department team in establishing goals and
direction in accordance with the district’s policies, regulation, procedures and planning process.
- Assist in the professional development of in-service programs to implement the district’s
technology curriculum for principals, teachers, and instructional support staff.
- Provide professional development in the area of educational technology.
- Provide teachers, principals, technology liaisons, and computer lab assistants with ongoing
research pertinent to curriculum practices, emerging concepts, and professional development
activities.
- Coordinate with Information Systems on educational technology issues.
- Implement special instructional projects or activities for students, teachers, principals, and
support staff.
- Assist the English Language Learning, Special Needs, and Gifted programs in the development
of curriculum, teacher professional development, and preparation of materials for student use.
- When appropriate, act as liaison between the community, parents and district to build
appreciation and support of assigned curriculum area.
- Provide in-service and training for computer lab assistants.
- Assist in development and evaluation of district’s curriculum. - Serve as a discussion leader and coordinator for school technology liaisons and serve as a focal
point for communication and interaction efforts.
- Assist in preparing district instructional technology product demonstrations and concept seminars.
- Establish and maintain a regular schedule of school site visits to assist with instructional
technology needs and questions and report teacher and administrator recommendations for new
products and projects.
- Model teaching techniques of technology integration in classrooms throughout the district.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
