TITLE: Account Specialist - Human Resources


Perform basic human resource support and assistance in such areas as employment, classification,
employee relations, and benefits in support of Human Resource functions for the District.

1. Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
2. Three (3) years administrative support experience, preferably in a human resources department.
3. Completion of District administered skills tests
4. May require a valid Arizona Driver's License

? Manage application process by accepting applications, reviewing for completeness, and follow up
for missing items.
? Complete reference checks and background checks on all applicants recommended for hire and
prospective candidates.
? Screen applications for support staff, instructional and administrative positions.
? Assist applicants and answers questions regarding application process and salary information.
? Assist in setting up screenings and interviews.
? Facilitate screening process and team interviews.
? Prepare and maintain files.
? Greet, direct and monitor visitors.
? Answer telephones; screen calls and direct to proper department or individual.
? Answer questions regarding certification of employees.
? Recruit applicants for certified and/or classified positions.
? Process new hire paperwork, address changes and perform other clerical duties.
? Process employee performance evaluations.
? Assist with employee requests to review personnel files.
? Assist Human Resource Managers in the preparation of correspondence, reports and compiling
information for Board Agendas relative to personnel actions.
? Assist with employee identification badges.
? Update and verify for accuracy employee information in various Human Resource systems.
? Maintain accurate databases for staffing, applications and screenings.
? Create periodic and ad hoc reports.
? Provide support to Human Resource department as needed.
? Perform other duties as assigned.


- Knowledge of multi-line telephone system.
- Knowledge of customer service/public relations practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of human resource administration in assigned
area. - Knowledge of teacher certifications and highly qualified requirements.
- Knowledge of appropriate district policies and procedures related to assigned area.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal statutes, regulations and laws governing human
- Knowledge of computer software utilized in tracking and maintaining reports and accounts
- Knowledge of customer service/public relations practices and procedures
- Knowledge of recordkeeping/file management practices and procedures
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive Applications
- Skill in problem analysis and resolution.
- Skill verifying applicant information and completing background investigations.
- Skill providing information in a clear and concise manner.
- Skill utilizing, maintaining and updating computer software databases.
- Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skill accurately inputting and retrieving information from computer databases
- Skill utilizing verbal and written communication in the development of reports and records
- Skill implementing policies and procedures related to area of assignment
- Skill utilizing customer service/public relations techniques when responding to inquiries and
- Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Skill in, but not limited to:
o Email
o Word Processing
o Spreadsheets
o Databases
o Presentation Software
o Accounting and basic math
o Use of standard office equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work independently in absence of supervision.


General Office environment


Position may require climbing, stooping, standing, walking, lifting, keyboarding, talking, listening, eye
strain and repetitive motions.
May be required to travel to in and out-of-district sites.
May require lifting and carrying materials and supplies weighing up to 60 pounds
