TITLE: Account Specialist - Construction
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Implement and maintain for the District an accurate and efficient computerized accounting system to
ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates for a variety of construction projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
2. Two (2) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferably in construction environment.
3. State of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
4. Completion of District administered skills tests
5. May require a valid Driver’s License.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general office duties.
- Maintain files and certificates.
- Prepare contracts, change orders, etc.
- Process RFI’s, submittals, job related correspondence, etc.
- Maintains accurate accounting by allocating, posting and preparing a variety of financial reports.
- Allocate, post and prepare requisitions.
- Process and approve purchase requisitions for budget compliance.
- Process and track TMA’s
- Maintain and update schedules, manuals, standard operating procedures and warranties
- Run monthly reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
? Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping methods, practices and procedures related to
construction
? Knowledge of computer software utilized in tracking and maintaining accounts and budgets
? Knowledge of customer service/public relations practices and procedures
? Knowledge of recordkeeping/file management practices and procedures
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive Applications
? Skill accurately inputting and retrieving information from computer databases
? Skill utilizing verbal and written communication skills in the development of reports and records
? Skill implementing policies and procedures related to area of assignment
? Skill utilizing customer service/public relations techniques when responding to inquiries and
complaints
? Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
? Skill in, but not limited to:
o Email
o Word Processing
o Spreadsheets
o Databases
o Presentation Software
o Accounting and basic math o Use of standard office equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General Office environment
May need to drive to other sites to complete work assignments
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Position may require climbing, stooping, standing, walking, lifting, keyboarding, talking, listening,
eyestrain and repetitive motions.
May be required to travel to in and out-of-district sites.
May require lifting and carrying materials and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
