TITLE: Technology Support Assistant - School
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide technology support to staff and students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
2. One (1) year of computer help desk or computer troubleshooting experience (preferred)
3. State of Arizona Identity (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act,
may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list is

incumbents of this class.)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain physical condition of computers, and accessories including running updates when
needed.
- Troubleshoot problems and perform minor repairs on student/staff devices.
- Submit tickets for repair when necessary and follow up on repair requests and status.
- Maintain operation of hardware and complete software updates as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory of technology devices.
- Provide technical assistance to staff and students as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of devices for state and local assessments.
- Communicate and report to the IT Department as needed.
- Participate in professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware, software and related peripherals.
- Knowledge of District policies and procedures affecting assigned work.
- Knowledge of testing procedures.
- Skill utilizing effective verbal and written communication.
- Skill in working with elementary/middle school children with a variety of abilities.
- Skill in setting up, installing, upgrading, troubleshooting/repair and supporting computers and
peripherals.
- Skill utilizing customer service techniques in responding to inquiries, requests and complaints.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skill in organization and managing deadlines.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse students.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Generally an indoor setting
Position is exposed to infectious disease
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Position may require climbing, stooping, standing, walking, lifting, keyboarding, talking, hearing, and
eyestrain, with repetitive motions through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.
Position may require lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying furniture, equipment and supplies weighing up to
25 pounds infrequently.
