TITLE: Teacher - Permanent Substitute


Enable each child to pursue his education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of
his/her regular teacher.


1. Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university
2. Valid Arizona Elementary/ Secondary Teacher certificate or Substitute certificate
3. Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

- Maintain as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures in the school and
classroom to which assigned.
- Teach the lessons outlined and described as prepared by the absent teacher.
- Consult with the building principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified
in the teacher’s lesson plan.
- Report in writing on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
- Verify with the school secretary whether attendance will be required on the following teaching
- Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good
teaching practices dictate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY: Current Substitute Teacher Rate of Pay, plus benefits

EVALUATION: Substitute Appraisal

SUPERVISES: Instructional Assistant(s) (if applicable)
