TITLE: Professional Development Specialist - Math

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide leadership and instructional expertise in math proficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Arizona Elementary and/or Secondary Certification
2. Bachelor Degree
3. MG Math or Mathematics Approved Area (required)
4. Math endorsement (preferred)
5. Minimum three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience
6. Experience working with English Language Learners (preferred)
7. Bilingual/ESL endorsement (preferred)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct on-going Math in-service training and coaching, where appropriate, for teachers and
instructional assistants.
- Disaggregate and interpret assessment data to develop instructional strategies to increase
student growth and achievement.
- Assist in the diagnosis, prescription and evaluation of students in math programs in schools.
- Collaborate, coordinate and assist classroom teachers in providing math instruction.
- Provide demonstration and assist teachers in the classroom with modeling and best practices.
- Attend math meetings with district math coordinator.
- Dependent upon the special needs of the school, assist the Principal with the management of the
math program materials and specialized instructional materials.
- Manage testing schedules, materials, and data; prepare and analyze reports.
- Participate in parent activities.
- Assist with district level staff development in math.
- Attend professional growth opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
