TITLE: Director of Informational Technology


Provide leadership and managerial responsibility for the direction, coordination, integration and
implementation of technology; ensure that District systems are operating within a secure and safe
environment and are functioning properly, efficiently and effectively; identify and implement new
technology applications and best practices; provide support and assistance with educational technology


1. Bachelor’s degree in IT Management, Network Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the development, installation and maintenance of
Information systems with emphasis on setting up, configuring, and managing network
3. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to determine the cause of an issue and implement
a solution.
4. Ability to communicate with and work well with all levels within an organization and within an
educational environment.
5. Highly organized with strong project management skills and ability to manage projects on
interrelated time lines.
6. Minimum of 3 years management/supervisory experience preferred.

- Responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of the District’s technology including the
configuration, installation, security and monitoring of hardware and software applications.

- Manage and plan the installation of technology systems, equipment and tools (e.g. hardware,
software, systems, wiring, specialized applications and tools) to ensure that projects are
completed timely, effectively and efficiently.

- Collaborate with District leaders on technology projects and educational initiatives; provide
technical support and assistance to schools and departments; create communication pathways to
receive feedback from District stakeholders.

- Organize and supervise the work of the informational technology staff to maximize efficiency;
provide professional development opportunities; develop relationships within the department.

- Coordinate and implement eRate projects; manage procurement, inventory and surplus
equipment in compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations; monitor and manage
department budgets.

- Develop and implement procedures within the IT department including Disaster Recovery Plans,
security protocols and best practices.
