TITLE: Instructional Coach - English Language Learning

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Coach Tempe School District staff in second language methodologies and assist with ELL Program
compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Arizona Elementary or Secondary Teacher certification (required)
2. Bilingual or ESL endorsement (preferred)
3. Three years Bilingual/ESL/ELD/ILLP classroom experience at the K-8 level (required)
4. Experience with ELP state proficiency and academic standards (required)
5. Experience in implementing scientifically research based second language approaches
6. Experience with parent involvement (preferred)
7. Experience collaborating with teachers and administrators (preferred)
8. Background in the theory and practices of Multicultural Education (preferred)
9. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with peers (required)
10. Technologically literate (preferred)
11. Background in the use of assessments for ELL students (required)
12. Flexible, well-organized, time manager (required)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct training and meetings as needed to support classroom instruction of English Language
Learners.
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to support ongoing use of Second Language
methodologies for Second Language Learners.
- Work with teachers for effective communication with students of culturally and linguistically
diverse students.
- Keep log of professional coaching and ELL Program compliance activities.
- Work with teachers to use assessment data to effectively impact instruction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
