TITLE: Teacher - IB MYP Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Support the school implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Work
closely with teachers and staff to oversee implementation, establish a school MYP leadership structure,
facilitate effective school partnerships to include vertical articulation, provide support and coaching to
teachers and support to students regarding MYP authorization, organization and implementation of
th
community service and the 8 grade community project, create and maintain school-based training
opportunities, prepare publications and promotional materials, and program monitoring and regulation
compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor Degree
2. Arizona Elementary Certification
3. SEI or Bilingual or ESL endorsement
4. International Baccalaureate MYP training and knowledge (preferred)
5. Participation in yearly training (required)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide implementation and authorization for the MYP which includes coaching, supporting the
writing of units and plans, and supporting teachers during PLC.
- Manage the process of unit development and implementation.
- Monitor and review the implementation of MYP subject guides by each content area.
- Review current educational resources, from national and international sources, to inform the
ongoing development of the programme so as to ensure its quality and relevance.
- Provide support on authorization and evaluation visits.
- Undertake to contribute to special projects, both internally and/or in cooperation with outside
agencies, to promote the MYP and the IBO.
- Be familiar with and advise the community IB MYP related documents.
- Develop and present orientations and other informational programs for MYP parents.
- Develop and administer programs to share information between teachers returning from MYP
training and the rest of the MYP staff.
- Organize, prepare agendas, coordinate/lead professional development activities for MYP staff
during the early release days and for staff meetings as directed by the Head of School.
- Prepare and present ongoing programs of MYP orientation and growth to MYP students.
- Maintain central focus and responsible authority for the MYP Application process including the
authorization visit.
- Prepare and implement IB Design units for students.
- Maintain resources of current IB MYP related documents and materials.
- Provide content and maintain an MYP website.
- Follow all Board policies, state laws and regulations. - Provide support to other positions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
