TITLE: Teacher - Community Service and Conservation Elective

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To create a flexible program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish
effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide
a good foundation in accordance with each pupil’s ability; establish good relationships with parents and
with other staff members.

To provide a program where students work individually and collaboratively within a team setting to
accomplish objectives; to illustrate how social, organizational and technological systems function; to apply
principals of resource management and develop skills that promote personal and professional well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor Degree
2. Arizona Elementary and/or Secondary Teacher certification
3. Appropriately certified in core subject area
4. Science background preferred
5. Provisional SEI or full Bilingual or ESL endorsement

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area, utilizing course of study
adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning activities.
- Instruct pupils in subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and
procedures of the school district.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group
instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Evaluate pupil’s academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress
reports.
- Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil’s progress and
interpret the school program.
- Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and
helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems.
- Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin
boards and interest centers.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service professional development activities
provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
- Select and requisition instructional aids and materials; maintain required inventory records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
