TITLE: Account Specialist - Instructional Excellence PAY GRADE: 43

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Inputs and maintains accurate and efficient computerized accounting of Professional Development
Catalog Courses, Site Based Training and other Districtwide curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
2. Two (2) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a school environment
3. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite Applications
4. Typing speed of 50 words per minute
5. May require a valid Arizona Driver's License

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accurate accounting by allocating, posting and preparing a variety of financial reports.
- Allocate, post and prepare purchase requisitions for budget compliance.
- Monitor department and capital budget expenditures, create reports and handle recordkeeping
tasks.
- Attend meetings and participate on committees that have a direct impact on decision making at
the district level.
- Manage and provide technical support for MyLearningPlan.
- Manage, distribute and collect Human Growth and Development Materials.
- Provide support in the management and organization of the District Spelling Bee, Kindergarten
Round-Up, 4.8 Screening Process, DIBELS Assessment Process, Move on When Reading
Program, Honors Math Program and STEM Initiatives.
- Ensure exceptional customer service.
- Assist parents in request to view District adopted curriculum and materials.
- Work with Coordinators of ELA, STEM and Human Growth and Development to manage and
distribute ELA, Math, Human Growth and Development and STEM curriculum.
- Maintain accurate inventories of curriculum and materials in the areas of ELA, STEM and Human
Growth and Development.
- May perform highly confidential support activities requiring independent operational decision-
making.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
? Knowledge of District policies and procedures, Federal and State rules and regulations,
Governing Board and school operations
? Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping methods, file maintenance and recordkeeping
practices and procedures

? Knowledge of researching information databases, computer databases applications and software
? Knowledge of customer service and public relations practices and procedures
? Skill in interpreting and explaining district policies, and implementing policies and procedures
related to area of assignment
? Skill in accurately inputting and retrieving information from computer databases
? Skill in utilizing verbal and written communication skills in the development of reports and records
? Skill in communication and utilizing customer service and public relations techniques when
responding to inquiries, complaints and interactions with staff and community.
? Skill in organization and maintaining confidential files and records
? Skill and expertise in, but not limited to:
o Email
o Word Processing
o Spreadsheets
o Databases
o Presentation Software
o Accounting and basic math
o Use of standard office equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:
General fast-paced office environment with multiple deadlines

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Position may require climbing, stooping, standing, walking, lifting, keyboarding, talking, hearing, and
eyestrain, with repetitive motions.
Repetitive motion and eye strain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.
Position may require lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying furniture, equipment and supplies
weighing up to 60 pounds.
May be required to travel to in and out-of-district sites.
