TITLE: Account Specialist - Human Resources PAY GRADE: 45


Implement and maintain for the District an accurate and efficient computerized reporting and accounting
system to ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates for a variety of projects and/or funds.
Provide technical support for HR software systems including setup and installation of applications, user
training, problem determination and resolution, assist with software maintenance.

1. Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
2. Two (2) years of Human Resource experience or job related experience
3. May require a valid Arizona Driver's License

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act,

- Create and maintain chart of accounts for State and Federal reporting.
- Maintain accurate record keeping related to Human Resource Management System.
- Process new hire paperwork.
- Create periodic and ad hoc reports relating to employee benefits, staffing, retirements, workers’
compensation, time accounting and various State compliance reports.
- Update and verify for accuracy employee information in various Human Resource systems.
- Provide for application development in databases, spreadsheets, or specialty software.
- Manipulate data and/or extract data for development of reports.
- Provide technical support for software applications and peripheral equipment.
- Work directly with vendors for support on specialty applications and their interaction with other
networks and programs and document for application development.
- Assist in project planning and implementation.
- Attend trainings and seminars.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

? Knowledge of Federal and State accounting and reporting requirements for assigned area
? Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping methods, practices and procedures
? Knowledge of computer software utilized in tracking and maintaining reports and accounts
? Knowledge of customer service/public relations practices and procedures
? Knowledge of recordkeeping/file management practices and procedures
? Skill accurately inputting and retrieving information from computer databases
? Skill utilizing verbal and written communication skills in the development of reports and records
? Skill implementing policies and procedures related to area of assignment

Fast paced general office environment
May need to drive to other sites to complete work assignments

Position may require climbing, stooping, standing, walking, lifting, keyboarding, talking, hearing, and
eyestrain, with repetitive motions.
Repetitive motion and eye strain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.
Position may require lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying furniture, equipment and supplies
weighing up to 60 pounds.
May be required to travel to in and out-of-district sites.
